Oregon Music Hall of Fame is pleased to announce that Emily Wu, Juan Valdez, Trevor Johnson and Madison Booth are the recipients of the annual OMHOF College Scholarships. The scholarships, which cover a portion of college tuition costs, will be formally presented to each after their individual performances on the main stage at Jimmy Mak’s in Portland from 5-7pm on April 30, 2015. Aaron Meyer, professional classical crossover Violinist and OMHOF K-8 assembly instructor, and Danny Schauffler, professional Saxophonist with bands such as the “Crazy 8’s” and Portland high school Band Director.

The OMHOF college scholarship program began in 2004 and to date; OMHOF has awarded over $36,000 in college scholarships to college bound students continuing their pursuit of a musical education. Thank you to Mark Baker and EPB&B Insurance for their contribution to raise each scholarship by $1500 again this year! “Each and every application held such a great sense of passion for music and education that the scholarship judging committee found rewarding to read and challenging to grade,” Janeen Rundle and Terry Currier, OMHOF Board Directors & Co-founders, relayed, “They all have such promising futures and are great representatives for their schools, OMHOF and their communities.”
