SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS
Vincent DePinto
Bassoon
Vincent is passionate about music, playing the bassoon, tenor saxophone and piano. He enjoys a broad range of musical genres- classical, jazz, soul/funk, and hip-hop. Vincent is honored to receive an OMHOF Scholarship and will use this award to finance his college tuition. A graduate of Central Catholic High School, Vincent will be attending the Berklee College of Music to study music production, engineering, film scoring and the music business.
Augusta Grassl
Harp
Augusta learned how to play the harp when she was _five, and since then music has been a huge part of her life. Her harp instructor, Karen Almquist has been her role model throughout the years, leaving Augusta with a love for classical music above other genres. Augusta will be attending the University of Puget Sound in the fall to study music and communications in addition to performing with the school orchestra. The Music Hall of Fame has helped her
on her journey, to continue to do what she loves and further her education.
John Fawcett
Violin
John was inspired to play the violin by going to concerts and listening to classical music recordings as a young child. He also saw a fiddler playing at a museum when he was 2 years old, and began asking his parents for lessons. Although he enjoys all genres of music, classical music is his favorite. In college, he will be majoring in violin performance. The OMHOF Scholarship will not only help John with college costs, but will assist him in buying a quality instrument.
Cameron Roche
Trumpet
Cameron Roche is a multi-talented artist, studying and playing trumpet for the past seven years and serving as a church worship leader for the past four years (guitar, piano, drums, bass and voice). Cameron plans to study Music Education and Jazz Studies at the University of Oregon and aspires to become a professional jazz and classical musician. The OMHOF scholarship is a great launch of this endeavor and he is very grateful to be a recipient of this award.
