The Portugal. The Man Concert for Kids

94/7 Alternative Portland and Portugal. The Man have united to help local children with The Portugal. The Man Concert for Kids, a concert just for those fans that are 18 and under. All proceeds from tickets sold will benefit the Music in Schools Program at the Oregon Music Hall of Fame

“OMHOF does a lot of great work in Portland schools and we wanted to do something to help them and highlight all they do,” Portugal. The Man lead singer John Gourley said.  “Having 94/7 help us spread the word is amazing. We hope a lot of people come out to support the cause and have a good time with us.”

“It’s great that one of the best bands to come out of Portland wants to give kids the opportunity to see them in this special concert,” OMHOF Director Terry Currier added. “With all the proceeds to help kids get music education in a time when many music programs have been cut out of schools, OMHOF is delighted to be the beneficiary of this unique show.”

“When Portugal. The Man offered to do this fun concert, we jumped at the chance to make it happen!” 94/7 Program Director Mark Hamilton said. “Parents and their kids can really bond during live music performances, and it’s rare for them to get to attend a real live rock show after school. It brings a whole new meaning to the phrase “after school special!”

The concert will take place at 4:15pm on the afternoon of Portugal. The Man’s sold out December to Remember concert, December 12th at the Crystal Ballroom. All adults must be accompanied by a minor – really! Tickets cost $9.47 and go on sale at 3pm November 13th
